Thoughts on my first semester back to college

It has been an interesting one to say the least. I have my midterm paper next Friday and my final paper on the following Friday. They are both on things I am passionate about. My midterm is about the Women's Revolution in WWE.  I will have more on my final paper later as I don't want to spoil the surprise. After a few more weeks, I will finish strong with a 3.0 plus gpa.

This semester has been challenging, but rewarding. I brought up my gpa which was one of my main goals for attending this semester. Attending college online has also made me realize that I prefer being an on campus student. I will probably have online classes from time to time, but I just don't want to do them all online. I love the interaction of being in a real college classroom.

That's why going forward, most of my classes will be on campus. I will be taking 2 or 3 classes a semester, depending on what's offered and what I can handle. This spring, I am taking Writing for the Mass Media and Electronic Communication. I may take Interpersonal Communication as well, it all depends on my schedule. This is because I may be working at the college through a Work study job, so I have to plan accordingly.

It helps that I have received financial aid for the future semesters, which helps my situation immensely.  I am going to get my Associates from Tulsa Community College and then decide if I want to finish at another school. It is an exciting time in my life and will be challenging, but it will be so worth it in the end.

Things are looking up

Things are changing around here... My husband got a promotion to Assistant Manager at Wal Mart. We are waiting to find out where his job will be. It could be within driving distance of Tulsa, but we aren't for sure. We do know it should be in this area. He has to attend a four week class to be trained in his new job before he is moved. Which means that Japan is postponed until a later date. Another bit of good news...I'm going back to college. I'm attending Tulsa Community College and studying Strategic Communications, otherwise known as Public Relations. I will be finishing my Associates degree there and lack 6-8 classes! I am also being approved for financial aid. I will only be going part time since that is what my aid will cover due to my previous degree. This works out well for me anyway due to having seizures and being unable to take on a full schedule. Once I have completed this degree, I will be attending Oklahoma State University to finish my B.A. in Strate...

day 12 of my #30daybloggingchallenge My favorite childhood book

When I was a child, I had a few favorite childhood books I loved. When I was little, I loved Dr. Seuss. I loved every Dr Seuss book I got my hands on, but my favorite Seuss childhood book was called, "My book about Me." It was a book where my mom and I updated it every year when I was growing up. It was like my first scrap booking experiment. The book included my favorite foods, where I live, where I went to school, my height, hobbies, interests, and so on. It was fun to see the change from year to year. When I was a teenager, I also loved the Sweet Valley High series. My favorite character was Jessica Wakefield. I always wanted to be like her. She might not have had it all together, but she had the most fun! What's your favorite childhood book?

Hello there!

Hello! For those who don't know me, let me pour you a glass of sweet tea and let's chat. My name is Gabrielle Farringer and I am a Disney fanatic. I always have been ever since I was a little girl. A little about me: I am happily married to a man named Kenneth since 2006, but we've been together since 2000. Our 12th wedding anniversary comes up next month on June 17th. I have a spirited furbaby, Nando who is the light of my life. I love Disney, WWE, cooking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. My first trip to Walt Disney World was on June 18, 2006 when we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter for four days, followed by a 3 day cruise on the Wonder. It was a fabulous time and one we still fondly remember! Since then, I have visited Walt Disney World 10+ times and Disneyland twice. My husband and I took another cruise on the Wonder in 2010 as well. I am looking forward to sharing more with you and hearing from you! Tata for now Gabrie...
