Day 23 of my #30daybloggingchallenge "If I won the lottery...."

This is a fun one and got me to thinking, "What would I do if I won the lottery?" Well, here are some of my ideas.

After checking Powerball  website, https://www.powerball.com to see what the latest jackpot amounts for a frame of reference, the website stated that the average jackpot is 178 million. So we're going to go with that.

So what would I do if I won 178 million? After taxes and the lump sum I would likely pick, I would likely a 100 hundred million for use. First, I'd pay off all our debts and put aside a chunk of it for savings. In addition, I would buy my husband a new car that would be dependable and that he would love.

I would give my mother a portion of money for her own usage. I would want her to do whatever she wanted with it and be able to live comfortably on it for the rest of her life. We would also want to completely renovate our home. Kenny and I would love to put a pool in the backyard and I would want a hot tub on a completed deck. I would also give my sister some money to use to enrich her life however she wished and to care for our grandmother for as long as she is alive. I would want to do the same for my in laws since they have been so wonderful and I cannot thank God enough for them.

I would put aside an amount for vacations every year for the rest of our lives. This could be solo vacations, Disney vacations, girls getaways, couple times, and maybe a mom and daughter vacation if I could talk me mom into going anywhere with me. She's very travel phobic.

My dream would also be to put aside money for any future education of mine or my family. I especially would see to it that my nieces education needs were not just met, but exceeded. I would want to start a scholarship for those who suffer from seizures. I'd also donate to Animal Rescue Foundation in Tulsa because I've always loved animals.

I would be sure to set aside an amount monthly for fun. It could be used ton go shopping, dining, spas, nail appointments, hair appointments, and massages. I would not quit going to college or work, I would continue living my life as normal.

So that's my ideas. What would you do if you won the lottery?

Things are looking up

Things are changing around here... My husband got a promotion to Assistant Manager at Wal Mart. We are waiting to find out where his job will be. It could be within driving distance of Tulsa, but we aren't for sure. We do know it should be in this area. He has to attend a four week class to be trained in his new job before he is moved. Which means that Japan is postponed until a later date. Another bit of good news...I'm going back to college. I'm attending Tulsa Community College and studying Strategic Communications, otherwise known as Public Relations. I will be finishing my Associates degree there and lack 6-8 classes! I am also being approved for financial aid. I will only be going part time since that is what my aid will cover due to my previous degree. This works out well for me anyway due to having seizures and being unable to take on a full schedule. Once I have completed this degree, I will be attending Oklahoma State University to finish my B.A. in Strate...

Why going back to work was the best thing I could have done

I was a stay at home wife and furmom for the better part of a decade. I enjoyed it, but it got to where I needed more. I needed challenges and interaction from other people. I went back to college at Tulsa Community College last fall and aced my class. I applied and started working at The TCC Connection in December 17th. It has been a great experience for me and I'm loving meeting new people. I love the interaction with my coworkers and the camaradie. I also enjoy being involved in campus activities and being a part of the campus activities board. But mostly, I've enjoyed being a part of a community again. I enjoy being busy and having exciting new challenges everyday. It's days like today where I am at home ill that makes me appreciate my new life. I enjoyed my old life, but I have a great new one and I couldn't be happier.

Finish strong!

We're down to the last few weeks folks! I have to finish my editorial on the college admissions scandal this weekend and this month will be attending a religious service for intercultural communication. On the 18th, I will be attending the Campus Activities Board for student leadership recognition and then a gala for winning a scholarship! This has been a challenging semester with lots of illness and pain, but I can see the light. I will have three weeks off until my summer classes start. I am taking Social Media Marketing and Honors TCC Connection. My job requires all students working there to enroll in a class each semester to advance their learning. In the fall, I am taking Principles of Advertising, Honors TCC Connection, Digital Photography, and Japanese I. Wish me luck! Gabrielle
