day 20 of my #30daybloggingchallenge What makes me happy?

First of all, I need to interrupt this challenge with an exciting announcement!

I will be starting work study this January as an office clerk and also assisting with social media management! This position is flexible and I will be working mainly in the afternoons after class!
I'm so happy. Things are working out so well! I will keep you updated as things develop!

Anyway, what makes me happy? It's the little things. It's spending a rainy day with my fur baby inside, while lighting a flannel Bath and Body Works candle. It's getting my work done for the week and seeing the progress. It's making a nice dinner for my family that we all enjoy.

Things like vacations, birthdays, and anniversaries make me happy too. Spending time with those I love makes me happy. Seeing my husband enjoy his video games me smile.  Being able to go back to Disney makes me giddy; I cry every time I see the castle, no matter how many times I see it.

I've learned over the past year that what makes me happy is my family and friends, not frivolous things. I guess you can call that growth and that makes me happy.

Things are looking up

Things are changing around here... My husband got a promotion to Assistant Manager at Wal Mart. We are waiting to find out where his job will be. It could be within driving distance of Tulsa, but we aren't for sure. We do know it should be in this area. He has to attend a four week class to be trained in his new job before he is moved. Which means that Japan is postponed until a later date. Another bit of good news...I'm going back to college. I'm attending Tulsa Community College and studying Strategic Communications, otherwise known as Public Relations. I will be finishing my Associates degree there and lack 6-8 classes! I am also being approved for financial aid. I will only be going part time since that is what my aid will cover due to my previous degree. This works out well for me anyway due to having seizures and being unable to take on a full schedule. Once I have completed this degree, I will be attending Oklahoma State University to finish my B.A. in Strate...

Why going back to work was the best thing I could have done

I was a stay at home wife and furmom for the better part of a decade. I enjoyed it, but it got to where I needed more. I needed challenges and interaction from other people. I went back to college at Tulsa Community College last fall and aced my class. I applied and started working at The TCC Connection in December 17th. It has been a great experience for me and I'm loving meeting new people. I love the interaction with my coworkers and the camaradie. I also enjoy being involved in campus activities and being a part of the campus activities board. But mostly, I've enjoyed being a part of a community again. I enjoy being busy and having exciting new challenges everyday. It's days like today where I am at home ill that makes me appreciate my new life. I enjoyed my old life, but I have a great new one and I couldn't be happier.

Finish strong!

We're down to the last few weeks folks! I have to finish my editorial on the college admissions scandal this weekend and this month will be attending a religious service for intercultural communication. On the 18th, I will be attending the Campus Activities Board for student leadership recognition and then a gala for winning a scholarship! This has been a challenging semester with lots of illness and pain, but I can see the light. I will have three weeks off until my summer classes start. I am taking Social Media Marketing and Honors TCC Connection. My job requires all students working there to enroll in a class each semester to advance their learning. In the fall, I am taking Principles of Advertising, Honors TCC Connection, Digital Photography, and Japanese I. Wish me luck! Gabrielle
