Update on Kenneth's job

He is leaving the beginning of September for a month training session an hour away in a town called Guthrie, Oklahoma. Wal-Mart is paying for his hotel and a lot of essentials. He will be training for his position of Assistant Manager.

It is the longest we will have been apart since we got together. No spouses are allowed to come along. We plan to keep up on facetime and text. He said he would come home as often as he can. I know we will miss each other, but I need to concentrate on getting things taken care of here while he trains. At the moment, we still do not know where he will be located once he is done with training. It is thought it will be within driving distance, but we don't know yet.

I will be attending TCC online and freelancing. So far, I've turned in all my projects this week and scored an A for all of them. I have 7 weeks to go and although I know it will be tough, I'm excited and willing to learn. I also have to stick with it due to the fact that I am a now a financial aid student and have to stick it out.

I have applied for some brick and mortar jobs in public relations/social media which I am waiting to hear about. They are all part time as I cannot work full time with my seizures. Some of them are workstudy at TCC. It gets me out of the house and in the public eye after all. I am looking for both telecommuting jobs and outside the home jobs in writing and social media. Eventually, I'd like to work part time outside the home and/or telecommute in a company I'm passionate about.

However, I am not going to accept just anything. Been there. Done that. Bought the t shirt. If there is one thing I learned at The University of Tulsa, it's "Don't ever just work for money because that's all you'll ever get. Work because it's your passion. Work because you love what you do." I've taken jobs for just the pay and learned that it never made me happy. I also want to look for projects where I can utilize my skills and if I have to stick to freelancing until I find something permanent, then that will be the order of the day.

Until then, I will keep you updated.

TTFN,

Gabrielle

Things are looking up

Things are changing around here... My husband got a promotion to Assistant Manager at Wal Mart. We are waiting to find out where his job will be. It could be within driving distance of Tulsa, but we aren't for sure. We do know it should be in this area. He has to attend a four week class to be trained in his new job before he is moved. Which means that Japan is postponed until a later date. Another bit of good news...I'm going back to college. I'm attending Tulsa Community College and studying Strategic Communications, otherwise known as Public Relations. I will be finishing my Associates degree there and lack 6-8 classes! I am also being approved for financial aid. I will only be going part time since that is what my aid will cover due to my previous degree. This works out well for me anyway due to having seizures and being unable to take on a full schedule. Once I have completed this degree, I will be attending Oklahoma State University to finish my B.A. in Strate...

Hello there!

Hello! For those who don't know me, let me pour you a glass of sweet tea and let's chat. My name is Gabrielle Farringer and I am a Disney fanatic. I always have been ever since I was a little girl. A little about me: I am happily married to a man named Kenneth since 2006, but we've been together since 2000. Our 12th wedding anniversary comes up next month on June 17th. I have a spirited furbaby, Nando who is the light of my life. I love Disney, WWE, cooking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. My first trip to Walt Disney World was on June 18, 2006 when we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter for four days, followed by a 3 day cruise on the Wonder. It was a fabulous time and one we still fondly remember! Since then, I have visited Walt Disney World 10+ times and Disneyland twice. My husband and I took another cruise on the Wonder in 2010 as well. I am looking forward to sharing more with you and hearing from you! Tata for now Gabrie...

My new "do"

So here it is! My new color! I went to Tulsa Style on a groupon and Lou Brewer was my stylist. She was amazing and helped me pick a great color that would suit my skin tone. We went with a rose gold look.  She used a bleach to lighten my hair and then a toner to create the color we wanted. While there, she told me how to further enhance the rose gold look. It's a "pink" shampoo from Sheer Brilliance that will enhance the rose gold. She gave me an all over trim and style. She curled my hair to create the look of the photo I showed her. I will be using her services again. She will be moving soon to a nearby location and when I get the details, I will pass them on.  Here is the website for more information on their services. http://www.tulsastyle.net/
